Dr. Keener is an audiologist with over 30-years of experience diagnosing and treating complex audiological conditions. Prior to founding IlluminEar, she specialized in evaluating and rehabilitating vestibular or balance disorders. During her time as a vestibular audiologist, she developed a love and interest in counseling, therapy, and rehabilitation. Thus, IlluminEar was born with the explicit goal to help people get their lives back from hearing loss, tinnitus, hyperacusis, and misophonia. She counts it a sincere privilege to walk this therapeutic journey with each and every patient.
Dr. Keener earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Indiana University in 1994. Two years later, she received her Master’s Degree in Audiology from Purdue University and went on to gain her Doctorate in Audiology from A.T. Still University in 2007. Dr. Keener’s training focused on a wide field of expertise, including such categories as assessing hearing loss, conserving hearing ability and providing treatment for a number of hearing disorders.
As a member of a number of professional Audiological Associations, Dr. Keener has become a valued member of her professional community over her nearly three-decade long career. Just a few of her industry associations include being a member of the Texas Academy of Audiology, the American Academy of Audiology, and the American Tinnitus Association, among others.
